This is the last week for advertising properties on Guildford Homechoice.  The bidding cycle will end on Sunday 21 November 2021.

We will be switching over to our new site Guildford Scheme ( from Thursday 25 November 2021

If you haven't re-registered for our housing waiting list, you will not be able to bid for available properties in our borough.

It is very important that you re-register, so if you haven't already, please do this as soon as possible. 

We are currently prioritising existing, re-registering housing applicants in this period up to 25 November 2021.  However, if you do not complete your application in full, sign the declaration and consent form and upload your required documents, we will be unable to process your application for housing

 How to re-register

  1. Go to
  1. Click on 'Join the register'. 
  1. Create an account using an email address. 
  1. Log in and complete the form.

Common issues with re-registration 

If your application is marked 'incomplete' or 'documents outstanding'

 Check you have:

  • Completed the full five-year address history we require, with no gaps in dates.
  • Answered all the questions on the form.
  • Signed the declaration and consent form.
  • Uploaded all required documents.

 How to upload your documents  

1. Go to Log-in to your account and click on 'Housing Register'.  
2. Click on 'View Housing and transfer application'.  
3. In the 'Documents' section, click on 'view' on the right-hand side of the screen.  
4. Click on 'View documents required' to see what we still need.  
5. Click on 'Upload Document'.  
6. Click on 'Choose Files' and find the document in your folder. This can be either a picture or scan of the document.  
7. When completed, click on 'Next'.  
8. Select the relevant description from the 'Document type' dropdown menu and the person it relates to from the 'Household member' menu. 
9. When completed, click 'Upload'.  
Repeat this until every document request has been completed and no more documents are required. Once the application is complete and all documents are uploaded, we will be able to process your application.  

Important – Account registration issue
Some applicants are experiencing account registration issues whereby they are receiving an error message stating ‘You cannot register at this time – Please contact your organisation’.  If you receive this error message, please email us at and provide your full name, date of birth and email address that you intend to use for your housing application and we will be able to resolve the issue by sending you an account invitation link.

We are not changing the way we prioritise applications, but you must re-register in order to keep your original band and date.   All decisions relating to backdating band dates are at the council’s discretion for re-registering applicants that did not meet the 10 November 2021 deadline for re-registering.  If your household circumstances have changed, we may review the banding of your application.
